Happy Saturday to you!

I have to be honest with you because the world feeds you enough lies. Giving into sin means choosing death. The pleasures of sin are worthless in comparison to the rewards of righteousness. God has innumerable blessings stored up for you. Why forego the goodness of God for fleeting moments of satisfaction? All the things outside of God that vie for your attention are falsities. They glimmer and gleam, promising great potential. Nevertheless, if that person, opportunity, or possession that you’re pursuing is not in God’s will for you, then heartbreak is your certain fate.

God’s desire is not to rob you of enjoyment and happiness. In fact, God’s desire for you is to know true satisfaction and sustainable joy. Only in the will of God may you find rest. God promises over and over again that those who delight in Him will be granted the desires of their heart. In other words, the good job, the safe neighborhood, the loving spouse, and the healed mind and body that you seek, all exist within His will.

Remain patient. Instead of hastily pursuing the wrong things, actively obey God. Waiting on God’s promises includes living out His commandments. In choosing His way, you choose a life far better than any that you’ve constructed in your dreams.

Final reminder: Nothing (absolutely nothing) in this life (relationships, opportunities, objects, etc.) is worth possessing if it comes at the expense of rejecting God.

Love,

CompassionateLee

James 1:12 Blessed is anyone who endures temptation. Such a one has stood the test and will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him. 13 No one, when tempted, should say, “I am being tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil and he himself tempts no one. 14 But one is tempted by one’s own desire, being lured and enticed by it; 15 then, when that desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin, and that sin, when it is fully grown, gives birth to death. 16 Do not be deceived, my beloved.
