Within Your Grasp

Sin destroys trust in relationships. You desperately want healing in your relationships. Yet, your relationships cannot be healed until your behaviors change. And the truth is: your behaviors will not change until the condition of your heart changes.

So, when does the transformation begin?

Transformation begins when you start fighting sin and stop surrendering to it. You have to fight sin to undergo the transformation that brings about freedom.

Start by fighting the thought that tells you that your sinful behavior is acceptable “just one last time”. There’s no need for one last time! You’ve committed way too much time and energy to that habit. You see all the damage that behavior engendered in your life. You know that your journey has been so much harder because of that decision. Why make the journey more difficult? Choosing to fight against sin, rather than surrendering to it, will produce a joy much more enjoyable than any pleasure you experienced while committed to sin.

Stop perseverating on what sin has cost you. Instead, consider how much salvation benefits you. Jesus Christ set up the fight in your favor. In His strength, not your own, you will experience victory.

Accept the fact that victory is possible for you. Victory is within your grasp. The current condition of your heart can change. Your behavior can change. Your life can change.

The key to sustaining your position as victor is to rely continuously on Jesus. Never stop depending on Him. Stay in His word. Keep on praying. Continue to fellowship with those individuals in your life who are also hungry for more of Jesus and eager to share the good news.

Remind yourself daily of the good news that Jesus died to save us from bondage to sin and death. Jesus liberated us from rebellious and wicked hearts and changed our lives forever. His shed blood cleansed us the moment we accepted Him as Lord and Savior. Jesus reconciled us to a Heavenly Father that loves us beyond our comprehension. His precious Holy Spirit is living in us and serving as our Comfort and Guide. We have received the ultimate gift. What a treasure!

I hope when you leave this website today that you feel encouraged. I want you to know that you are not your sins. You do not have to be a slave to them any longer. You can live freely and joyously.

Victory is within your grasp.

Love,

CompassionateLee

Ephesians 2 :1 And you were dead in the trespasses and sins 2 in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience— 3 among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind. 4 But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, 5 even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— 6 and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
