Happy Monday to you!
We all face challenging moments. Hardship is an unavoidable fact of life. The worse thing we can do in periods of difficulty is isolate ourselves. Isolation leaves room for negativity to fester in the mind and boil over into regrettable actions. Your list of positive influences and wise loved ones may not be long. That does not matter. Thank God for the righteous support system you do have-even if it’s one person. Lean on good people when times get difficult. Don’t withdraw yourself from love and sound counsel. Cry when necessary. Pray when you have the strength. There’s no defeat in tears. There’s no shame in relying on good people when you’re weak. When you’re able and strong, you also should be a person in whom others can confide. Too many people are committing suicide or losing their minds bottling pain and grief inside. Too many people are experiencing their stress transform into cancer or panic attacks or depression. Seeking help when you need it is NOT a sign of weakness. It’s a sign of self-awareness, a sign of self-care. Just make sure while you’re seeking help from the experts that you don’t forsake turning to THE EXPERT.
God has given us trained medical professionals, trustworthy friends and family, classically trained entertainers, world-renowned chefs. All of these things were given for our benefit. Yet, not one of them can compare to the gift of a relationship with God. You can cry to God at any moment in time. You can lift up your burdens before Him. God will give you a song of praise. God will give you comfort and relief. God will give you strength and then insight to encourage others who are down. Ask me how I know? Just kidding. Don’t ask.
I love each and every one of you reading this post. I want you to know God is with you. God wants you to trust Him. God does not want you to isolate yourself from love. Don’t go into solitary confinement when things get rough. Lean on God and lean on Godly, God-led people. The just live by faith. The end of faith is great reward.
Jeremiah 17:5 Thus saith the Lord; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the Lord. 6 For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited. 7 Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is. 8 For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.
