Happy Saturday to you!

Love is the greatest safeguard against evil. Think about it. You would never want to see persons who you love in pain. Moreover, you would never want to be the source of their pain. For the most part, you desire wellness for your loved ones. When it is in your power, you do things to make them happy. Imagine if you demonstrated the same concern for persons outside of that sphere. Imagine if you demonstrated that kind of love towards distant relatives, annoying coworkers, or strangers. Life would be drastically different for all of us.

We really should make every attempt to abound in love towards one another. We should forgive those who hurt us. We should avoid cursing those who annoy or anger us. We should extend grace and mercy and avoid retaliation. We should inquire about the well-being of those who are not in our intimate circle. We should give as often as we can without murmuring. We should see the value in each person's life. We should show respect to all people, regardless of our seeming differences. This is the key to impacting the world, positively and powerfully.

Many people only express love to those who are loving. However, Jesus Christ teaches against that way of life. He calls us to extend love to those who are good, as well as to those who are menacing. It is not our duty to seek out vengeance against mean and evil persons. It is our duty to show love, even in the most difficult moments. Do not be deceived. Just as God always punishes wickedness, He always rewards lovingkindness.

Never allow a circumstance or a person to turn you into an unloving person. Continue to hold love in your heart and express love to all people. In that manner, you glorify God and store up for yourself treasure that does not corrode or perish.

Love,

CompassionateLee

Matthew 5:43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, 45 that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. 46 For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? 47 And if you greet your brethren only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the tax collectors do so? 48 Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.
